Source Selector's PN (Pink Noise) Position
IRD is the first high-end company (that we are aware of) to offer a built-in pink noise generator. This function can be used for diagnostic testing and setup of your listening room, audio components, cables, AC power devices, loudspeakers, and room treatments.
CAUTION : Before attempting to use this special function you must turn the volume level switch to its lowest level and the gain selector to the 6dB position. Just like any other source, to protect your loudspeakers, the PN source position must be entered with the volume turned all the way down.
Once the gain and volume have been properly adjusted you can turn the source selection switch and select the PN (Pink Noise) position. Listen for about 30 seconds and you will hear the pink noise generator stabilize through your loudspeakers (very low level). It takes 15-30 seconds for the PN output to be useable and stable. After 30 seconds you can turn the volume up to the desired level and proceed with your tests.
